Our nursery ethos

We believe a child led approach to teaching in the Early Years is best for the children.

Children are born with a natural desire to explore and learn, and our practitioners can support them in this.

This is done by creating an enabling environment (both physical and emotional) and through relationships and interactions that the children experience.

We are trying to remain ‘In the Moment’ with children as they explore and learn. We observe carefully and enhance their learning whenever we spot a ‘Teachable Moment’.

We let the children choose what they want to do, join them and support them in their pursuits and discuss/record what has happened.

Having recently adopted this approach, our children are happy, relaxed and are making very good progress, and likewise the staff have become relaxed, inspired and enthusiastic about their vocations.
